During the meeting, experts discussed the challenges of ensuring the sustainable development of the national mineral resource base in strict compliance with existing environmental standards, as well as the scaling of existing solutions for countries within the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and BRICS.
The participants emphasized the necessity of developing and implementing advanced digital platforms to enhance the efficiency of subsoil management operations. It was noted that the FBA EAC platform can serve as an effective mechanism for the exchange of expertise and the facilitation of interstate business dialogue.
Nuritdin Inamov presented the priority areas of activity of the ANO "Digital Subsoil Use" and outlined several large-scale international initiatives. He highlighted the critical need to eliminate artificial barriers to technological exchange between nations, noting that the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 is unattainable otherwise. According to him, Russia has developed advanced technologies and solutions that are in high global demand, and efforts are actively underway to promote them internationally.
As a prime example, Mr. Inamov highlighted the successful launch of the BEST (Environmentally Sustainable Technologies) platform, as well as a new initiative: the BRICS Geological Platform. Established in 2024, this platform is designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technologies among the specialized agencies of the member states.
Addressing the global energy transition, the expert pointed out a fundamental shift in resource demand structures. Alongside traditional oil, gas, and coal, there is a growing need for critical minerals, including rare earth elements and metals essential for robotics, manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare.
Alexander Kotlyarsky highly commended the caliber of the presented initiatives and emphasized the comprehensive nature of the challenges facing the industry. These range from geological exploration and digital reserve modeling to extraction technologies, the management of which must be fundamentally grounded in digital solutions. In this context, information security takes center stage; without it, all aforementioned advancements lose their strategic value.
Summarizing the meeting, the participants concluded that the advancement of digital technologies in subsoil management and the formulation of unified approaches to the exploration, extraction, and processing of critical minerals necessitate robust international cooperation. In this regard, the FBA EAC platform is well-positioned to serve as a catalyst for promoting such initiatives.

FBA EAC Headquarters Hosts Discussion on the Digitalization of Subsoil Use and the Development of the BRICS Geological Platform
On September 15, 2026, a working meeting of the Industry Committee was held at the headquarters of the FBA EAC. The meeting was chaired by Alexander Kotlyarsky, First Vice President of the FBA EAC and Head of the Committee. Participants included Sergey Korotkov, Chairman of the Committee for Multilateral Cooperation with BRICS Countries, Senior Advisor to the UNIDO Centre in Russia, and Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of the FBA EAC; and Nuritdin Inamov, Deputy General Director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization (ANO) "Digital Subsoil Use".
