Andrey Ostrovsky is widely recognized as one of the foremost Russian Sinologists and has authored numerous scholarly works on the economic, historical, and political aspects of China. His latest monograph, which is the result of extensive research and personal experience in China, provides an in-depth analysis of Chinese economic reforms and their implications for the development of Sino-Russian relations.

The presentation of the book was a natural extension of the "Humanitarian Bridges of Eurasia: Cooperation Beyond Industry" session, underscoring the importance of academic and expert collaboration as an integral component of Eurasian integration.

During the presentation, the author outlined the principal findings of his research, with a particular focus on the practical dimensions of China's economic transition and the lessons that can be drawn from this experience for other countries. The discussion among the attendees addressed several pertinent issues:

• the most significant ideas presented in the book for the advancement of Sino-Russian relations;

• the most urgent scientific and practical challenges in the field of China studies;

• the role of the academic community in fostering mutual understanding between Russia and China.

The event was attended by representatives from the scientific and business sectors in Russia and China, as well as experts in international relations and Oriental studies. Participants commended Andrey Ostrovsky's contributions to the development of Russian Sinology and emphasized the significance of such scholarly gatherings in enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations.

All proposals and initiatives discussed during the roundtable will be incorporated into the final package of recommendations for the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission on Investment Cooperation.
