Digital Cooperation in Eurasia: The Role of AI and Robotics in Strategic Partnerships Was Discussed at the MIFEF-2025
During the XI Moscow International Financial and Economic Forum, experts from Russia, China, and Europe convened to address a critical issue for the real sector: the transformation of digitization and artificial intelligence from mere trends into instruments of strategic collaboration.
The discussion was moderated by Alexander Kotlyarsky, First Vice President of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), and featured over 150 experts. Kotlyarsky noted that the doubling of attendance compared to the previous year reflected a growing business need for specific solutions rather than general rhetoric.
The session commenced with a presentation by Alexey Vedev, Director of the Macroeconomic Policy Department at the EEC, who emphasized that digital transformation is indispensable for establishing sustainable cooperative ties within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
Subsequent presentations provided practical examples to support this thought. Anatoly Smirnov, President of the National Institute for Global Security Studies and Professor at MGIMO University, outlined Russia's approach to global AI governance, eliciting questions from foreign participants regarding the practical implementation of these models. Oleg Lettiev, Director of the Automation Department at Industrial Technologies LLC, focused on the strategic potential of industrial artificial intelligence.
Chinese participants, including Athena Wu, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association for Mechatronics Technology & Application (CAMETA), and Wang Xuli, Director of International Marketing of the Dandong Dongfang Measurement & Control (DFMC), presented specific integration cases in Greater Eurasia markets.
The intricacies of digital solution implementation were elucidated by Alexander Melerzanov, Ph.D. (Medical Sciences); Head of the Laboratory of Biomedical and Digital Technologies of the Center for AI Research at the NRU MIPT (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology), and Jimsher Chelidze, Founder and Head of Chelidze and Partners company. A practical perspective on technological processes was offered by Andrey Ershevsky, Mineral Process Consulting Engineer (Switzerland), and Artyom Kireev, CEO of the Working Module Group.
The session's format, which facilitated a technical dialogue among representatives from diverse countries and industries, proved highly effective. In contrast to platforms where discussions often remain limited to general statements, FBA EAC has successfully created a space for substantive exchanges among specialists who typically do not collaborate in such settings. These cross-industry interactions are instrumental in shaping the new architecture of Eurasian industrial cooperation, enabling it to address the challenges of the digital era.
