Trade, Logistics, Tourism: Key Areas of Russia–China Cooperation Discussed in Harbin

According to Evgeny Bazhov, Representative of the Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC) in China, substantive dialogue on priority areas of bilateral cooperation—trade, logistics, agriculture, tourism, and interregional projects—was held on the sidelines of the 6th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian–Chinese Commission on Cooperation and Development of the Russian Far East and Northeast China.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhang Guoqing, alongside representatives of key ministries and agencies of both countries. These included the Ministry of Commerce of China, the National Development and Reform Commission of China, the Ministry of Transport of China, the General Administration of Customs of China, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, as well as heads of Russian Far Eastern regions.

As noted by Evgeny Bazhov, who also serves as General Representative of the Russian Export Center (REC) in China, participation in high-level events of this caliber provides an opportunity not only to advance the export agenda but also to strengthen the positioning of Russian companies in the strategically vital Asian direction for Russia.

With Mr. Bazhov's support, an investment agreement was also signed in Harbin between Chelidze & Partners, represented by its Founder and Managing Partner Jimsher Chelidze, and the Chinese Qingdao Shanghe International Trade Group Co., Ltd., represented by its General Director Liu Le.

The dialogue reaffirms the mutual commitment of Moscow and Beijing to deepening practical cooperation in border regions. For Russia, this translates into expanded export channels and increased investment inflows for the development of the Far East; for China, it ensures reliable access to resources and markets. The regular format of such meetings lays a solid foundation for long-term stability and steady growth in bilateral relations.
