Chairman of the International Banking Committee Of FBA EAC Oleg Preksin passed away
With deep sadness we share the news that Oleg Preksin passed away. He was the prominent economist, financial expert, event manager and truly professional person, whose life became an example of the service to developing international economic relations and financial system.
Oleg Preksin was born on the 28th of July, 1951 in Moscow.
His professional way started after graduating from Moscow Finance Institute (now Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation), where he got a degree in “International economic relations”. Since that moment his life was inextricably connected with the world of finance, banking and international cooperation.
Oleg Preksin made his vibrant and eventful way having left the significant mark in the history of domestic and international economics. He worked in the Foreign Trade Bank of the USSR, Council of Ministers of the USSR, he was the Deputy of the Chairman of the Board in Donau Bank in Vienna. From 1992 to 1996 he was the representative of the Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus and Tajikistan in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London. His contribution to the development of international financial institutions and strengthening of economic relations between the countries can hardly be overestimated.
Oleg Preksin was one of the organizers of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the member of its Organizing committee of the first convocation as well as active participant of the Working group on the principal directions of integration under the Eurasian Economic Commission and a range of professional committees and commissions of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
His professionalism and commitment to his work were in high demand in various spheres starting from civil service to private business sector.
In FBA EAC, Oleg Preksin occupied the position of the Chairman of the International banking committee of FBA EAC, he was the member of the Board, Deputy of the Chairman of the Organizing committee of the Moscow International Financial and Economic Forum as well as Deputy of the Chief editor of the FBA EAC Herald. His ideas, energy and profound knowledge played the significant role in the successful operation of the Association.
Not only Oleg Preksin was a highly-professional expert, but also a person of generous spirit and a kind heart. He was profoundly engaged in charity being the President of the Foundation for Support and Development of the Moscow Central School of Art under the Russian Academy of Arts. His contribution to culture and education will remain in the memory of numerous generations.
Oleg Preksin passed away having left a rich heritage. His work, ideas and dedication will always serve as an example for everyone who knew him in person or had the privilege to work with him.
We express our deep condolences to his family, colleagues and everyone who were lucky to know Oleg Preksin.
