Sergio Rodrigues and Maxim Oreshkin Opened the Presentation of Brazilian Products in Moscow

On June 8, 2026, a large-scale industry event dedicated to the development of Brazilian product exports was held in Moscow. The event was organized by the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), with the support of the Embassy of Brazil in the Russian Federation.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Russia, Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos; Presidential Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Maxim Oreshkin; and the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil, Luis Rua. The presentation brought together leading Brazilian exporters, Russian importers, distributors, and representatives of the HoReCa sector.

The main objective of the meeting was to expand commercial ties between the two countries. ABIEC President Roberto Perosa, who moderated the closing ceremony, noted that around 60 Brazilian companies have expressed their readiness to supply products to Russia, although only 11 have been licensed so far. Brazil is interested in strengthening its position in the Russian market and aims to return to the ranks of the largest meat suppliers to Russia.

The business program included bilateral meetings between representatives of the meat industries of both countries, as well as a product presentation with tasting. Guests were able to discuss prospects for direct supplies, logistics and certification issues, and evaluate the quality of Brazilian beef.

FBA EAC continues to actively participate in the development of bilateral contacts between Russia and Brazil. Previously, during the International Coffee and Tea Exhibition in Moscow, a meeting was held between FBA EAC Presidential Adviser Sergei Korotkov and Brazilian Ambassador Sergio Rodrigues. At that time, a preliminary agreement was reached on a visit by the head of the Brazilian diplomatic mission to the Association's office, where prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation were to be discussed, including issues related to cross-border payments and industrial cooperation.

The recent presentation of Brazilian meat products has already demonstrated practical interest from Russian businesses in increasing supplies and the readiness of both sides to engage in dialogue. Both events — the presentation and the upcoming meeting at FBA EAC — are working toward a common goal: expanding the trade and economic partnership between Russia and Brazil.
