Sergey Korotkov Chaired the Session "Humanitarian Dimension of International Industrial Partnership" at INNOPROM 2026
On July 8, 2026, at the Sverdlovsk Region stand during the 16th INNOPROM International Industrial Exhibition, a panel session titled "Humanitarian Dimension of International Industrial Partnership" was held. The event was organized by the Ministry of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Association of Lawyers of Russia, the Russian United Nations Association, and UNIDO.
The session was moderated by Sergey Korotkov, Advisor to the Director of the UNIDO International Industrial Cooperation Center in the Russian Federation and Advisor to the President of the FBA EAC, and Lyudmila Berg, Doctor of Laws, Professor, and Head of the Laboratory for Legal Support of the Safe Use of Genetic and Genomic Information at the Ural State Law University.
The discussion participants included Ilya Skidin, Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region; Valentin Babkin, CEO of KORBET LLC; Irina Perevalova, President of the Notarial Chamber of the Sverdlovsk Region and Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Self-Regulatory Organization of the Association of Lawyers of Russia; Gleb Batrak, Rector of the Ural State Mining University; Yuri Sukhanov, Director General of the Federal Budgetary Institution "State Regional Center for Standardization, Metrology, and Testing in the Sverdlovsk Region"; Andrey Klevtsov, Director of the Legal Department of the Ural Bank of Sberbank PJSC; and Nikolay Novikov, Deputy to the Permanent Representative of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region to the President of the Russian Federation, and Member of the Presidium of the Council of Heads of Regional Representative Offices under the President and the Government of the Russian Federation.
The session was dedicated to a comprehensive discussion of the legal, institutional, and humanitarian aspects of international cooperation in the context of the digital transformation of industry. The focus was on modern mechanisms for fostering international humanitarian cooperation regarding the development of Industry 4.0, the use of artificial intelligence, the automation of production processes, and the cross-border exchange of technologies, data, and innovative solutions. A dedicated segment addressed the legal instruments for protecting human rights during the integration of advanced technologies into industry. This included safeguarding the right to work, preventing digital inequality, minimizing the risks of algorithmic discrimination, and ensuring equitable access to the benefits of technological progress.
Concluding the discussion, Sergey Korotkov emphasized that technological sovereignty must not be at odds with open and mutually beneficial partnership. Following the session, the participants outlined next steps for advancing international humanitarian cooperation in the industrial sector.
