Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation, which was represented at the meeting by its President Li Shuobing, is a member of the International Banking Council. In his speech Li Shuobing noted the relevance of the issues discussed at the meeting. He also stated that cooperation in the banking sector between Russia and China in recent years has been burdened with the difficulties of sanctions pressure. The current professional banking instruments, according to Li Shuobing, also do not correspond to the volume and pace of development of Russian-Chinese business. According to Li Shuobing, despite the difficult situation, the Chinese side does not lose hope and believes that there is great potential and opportunities for joint cooperation in the banking sector as well as in the area of work, the problems of which were discussed at the meeting of the International Banking Council.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan, the Association of Belorussian Banks, the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan, the Association of Banks of Russia, the Association of Banks of Tajikistan, the Association of Banks of Uzbekistan, the FBA EAC, and the CIS Financial and Banking Council.
The IBC was founded by five banking associations in 2014 during the II International Banking Forum in Sochi.
