FBA EAC representatives took part in the VII Congress of the Association of Banks of Russia

On the 29th of May, 2025, the VII Congress of the Association of Banks of Russia (XLIV General Meeting of Members of Russia Association) was held in Moscow on the topic “The role and place of the banking system in maintaining economic stability and stimulating investment”.

The event was attended by Alexander Murychev, Chairman of the FBA EAC Board and the International Banking Council, and Margarita Fedotova, Executive Director of FBA EAC.

Anatoly Aksakov, Chairman of the Council of the Association of Banks of Russia and Head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market gave a keynote speech at the Congress.

Among the key speakers there were Olga Polyakova, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, and Ivan Chebeskov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation.

The participants discussed measures to strengthen economic stability, stimulate investment and develop digital financial instruments. Special attention was paid to supporting technological sovereignty, reducing risk weights for “green” projects and developing syndicated lending.

The Congress also made a number of organizational decisions, which can be found on the website of the Association of Banks of Russia.

The participation of FBA EAC representatives in the event underlines the importance of interaction between financial and business associations for the development of the banking sector and economic cooperation in Eurasia.
