In his speech, Alexander Murychev noted:

‘It is becoming a kind of tradition to devote one of the issues of the Commission's meetings to the development of a particular type of tourism. This time we focused on gastronomic tourism, the popularity of which is growing worldwide. In Russia, this segment is growing by 15-17% per year, and tourist spending on gastronomy last year reached 218 billion rubles.’

Market participants are not only hotels and restaurants, but also food industry and agricultural enterprises, many of which are members of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Special attention was paid to the role of regions in promoting gastronomic tourism. Earlier, on March 13-14, the NAAIR meeting was held in Murmansk, where the prospects of this area were discussed.

‘We promised to consider the issue with broader attendance on the platform of RSPP – and today we are fulfilling this promise,’ emphasized Alexander Murychev.

Another important topic of the meeting was the application of the tourist tax introduced since 2024.

‘While the rate has not yet reached 5%, it is important to establish monitoring of its application in order to further adjust the norms taking into account the interests of business,’ said Alexander Murychev.
