Alexander Murychev spoke at the XVII National Conference on Internal Control and Audit

Alexander Murychev, Chairman of the FBA EAC Board, Vice-President of RSPP, took part in the XVII National Practical Conference “Internal Control and Audit in Russia. The Role of Internal Control in a Changing Environment” – one of the leading industry platforms bringing together managers and specialists of large state-owned and private companies, as well as representatives of regulatory authorities.

1 The event traditionally serves as a platform for professional dialogue on the topical issues of internal control, audit and risk management. The discussion focuses on national control standards, best industry practices, assessment of macroeconomic challenges, as well as business adaptation to changing conditions.

At the plenary session “Economic Situation in Russia in Modern Conditions”, Alexander Murychev presented an expert assessment of macroeconomic trends and answered pointed questions that concern the business community.

Monetary policy and Key Rate Alexander Murychev noted that under current conditions the restrictive policy of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation poses serious challenges for business, but expressed confidence that in the near future a gradual adjustment of the rate is possible depending on the dynamics of inflation and foreign economic situation. It is especially important for business to maintain financial stability and the possibility of attracting resources.

Control and Supervision

In his opinion, the trend towards the digitalization of control will continue, but regulators will try to find a balance between supervision and business support.

Main risks of 2025

Among the key challenges for companies, the speaker highlighted the following ones:

• High cost of resources and high exchange rate because of the introduced tariffs

• Volatility of commodity markets

• Changes in international trade

• Need to adapt to new technological standards

• Staff shortages in critical industries

Advice to business

Alexander Murychev gave 6 strategic tips to entrepreneurs:

1. Invest in the digital transformation of control and management processes.

2. Diversify supplies and supply chains.

3. Strengthen risk management to meet new regulatory requirements.

4. Make more active use of state support tools.

5. Develop human resources, including the training of internal audit specialists.

6. Monitor the situation with non-payments, liquidity, accounts receivable.

The conference was also attended by Diana Mashtakeeva – General Director of the Financial Markets Association “Council for Professional Qualifications Development”, member of FBA EAC. Diana Mashtakeeva will speak at the Eurasian Financial and Economic Forum in Shanghai (April 16-19, 2025) at the session “Cultural Dialogue between Countries – On the Way to Building a Sustainable and Fair World Order”.
