Possible Inclusion of Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory in Russian Crafts Exhibition at Shanghai Forum
The Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory has been approached by Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC) regarding the potential presentation of its products at the II Eurasian Financial and Economic Forum to be held in Shanghai from April 17 to 19, 2026. This initiative was proposed by Alexander Kotlyarsky, the First Vice-President of the Association, and is co-organized by Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).
Negotiations between the FBA EAC delegation, led by Vladimir Kotenev, Board Member, and Sergey Korotkov, Advisor to the FBA EAC President, and representatives of the Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory, including Alexander Kartashov, CEO, and Vyacheslav Dolgov, his deputy, took place on February 17 at the manufactory's premises.
FBA EAC presented two potential cooperation models to the manufacturer: participation in the Shanghai exhibition and, subsequently, product placement in a dedicated pavilion-showroom for Russian goods, which the Association plans to establish in China.
Alexander Kartashov provided an overview of the company's current status and its experience in the Chinese market. He noted that, while the manufactory has been engaged in trade with China since 1999 primarily as a raw material importer, its production facilities are currently fully operational, and its products are primarily distributed within the domestic market.
The FBA EAC delegation elucidated that the pavilion being established in Shanghai is intended for sustained operations, not a one-time event. The organizers assert that the inclusion of a brand such as the Pavlovo Posad Manufactory in the exhibition will draw attention to the venue and establish a conducive image backdrop for other participants. Strategic deliberations by the forum's organizers led to the decision to incorporate a distinct exhibition of Russian folk crafts into the business agenda. Alexander Shokhin, the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and Li Shuobing, the head of FBA EAC, perceive the display of traditional crafts as a crucial "emotional foundation" for fostering enduring business relationships.
The Pavlovo Posad Shawl Manufactory is one of the most venerable enterprises in the field of folk-art crafts in Russia. The company specializes in the production of wool shawls, as well as shawls featuring traditional printed designs. Products manufactured by the company have been exported to various countries, including Italy, Spain, Germany, and others.
II Eurasian Financial and Economic Forum is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, with the support of business circles from both Russia and China. High-level representatives from major corporations, financial institutions, and relevant ministries of the two countries are anticipated to attend the event.
