Strategic approaches to the implementation of national climate policy were discussed at the Climate Forum of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs
On the 14th of February 2025 within the frames of the Russian Business Week of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), the Climate Forum “New Challenges of Global Climate Policy – Possibilities and Risks for Business” was held. It was organized with the participation of the RSPP Committee on climate policy and carbon regulation presided over by Andrey Melnichenko.
The participants of the Forum discussed strategic approaches to the implementation of national climate policy, given the crisis of the existing international climate institutions, the results of the Russian chairmanship in BRICS and the results of the 29th session of the Conference of the parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku (Azerbaijan).
The following participants took part in the Forum: Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Andrey Melnichenko, Chairman of the RSPP Committee on climate policy and carbon regulation, Maksim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Boris Titov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for communication with international agencies aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, Ruslan Edelgeriev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on climate issues, Ambassador of the President of Kenya on climate issues and Chairman of the African group of negotiators on climate change Ali Mohamed, and others.
