The forum was organized by the Financial Market and Investment Council of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the BRICS Center, and the National Information Center KapitalInfo, in partnership with Bankovskoye Delo magazine. The events were held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, the embassies of the BRICS nations, and the FBA EAC.
The FBA EAC delegation, led by Alexander Murychev, Chairman of the Association’s Board and Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE), took an active part in the events. The delegation included Anna Bezdudnaya, Director General and Editor-in-Chief of the FBA EAC Herald; Marina Nesterenko, Chair of the Committee for International Cooperation and Tourism, who also moderated a key session and opened the BRICS Nations Ball; Alexey Kazarzev, Chairman of the International Banking Committee; and Anatoly Kazakov, a member of the Business Council. The forum brought together over 400 representatives from government bodies, development institutions, the business community, the diplomatic corps, and international expert circles from the BRICS, CIS, and African nations.
During the strategic session “Eurasian Business Dialogue: Innovation, Technological Sovereignty, and Cooperation,” Alexander Murychev outlined the priorities of Russian business. He noted that large enterprises are already effectively redirecting their flows from the West to the East—namely, to China, India, and Southeast Asian nations. Mr. Murychev also highlighted the growing investment activity of partners: in 2025, 4,500 companies with Chinese capital were established, and in the first month of 2026 alone, another 1,500 enterprises were launched.
At the round table “Priority Areas of State Support for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises,” Anna Bezdudnaya, Director General of the FBA EAC, presented a report on systemic support measures for SMEs. She highlighted three key areas: grant financing, tax incentives, and export support. Special attention was given to the barriers hindering Russian businesses from entering BRICS markets. “The existing export support mechanisms are effective for the EAEU and ‘friendly’ markets with low transaction costs. However, operating in India, Brazil, or China requires additional institutional frameworks—specifically, the harmonization of technical regulations and instruments for hedging currency risks,” Ms. Bezdudnaya noted.
During the panel session “Building the Future: The Power of Creative Industries in a Multipolar World,” moderated by Marina Nesterenko, participants discussed the economic potential of creative industries for the BRICS nations, investment mechanisms to support creative projects, and the establishment of a shared cultural and educational space.
On June 24, the International BRICS Nations Ball was held at Gostiny Dvor, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the BRICS association and the 65th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s historic spaceflight. Dubbed the “Space Odyssey,” the ball brought together over 500 guests from 50 countries, including heads of diplomatic missions, politicians, financiers, entrepreneurs, and public figures.
Opening the ball, Marina Nesterenko drew a historical parallel: “Two hundred years separate two eras. Back then, in Vienna, they danced to redraw the map of Europe. Today in Moscow, we dance because a new map of the world is already taking shape. The primary goal is to demonstrate that in this new world, there is room not only for economics, but also for culture and human warmth.”
The festive atmosphere was set by the BRICS Ball Orchestra, conducted by Pavel Soldatikov, which performed works by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Lehár, and Strauss. The stage featured stars of the Bolshoi Theatre, Alexander and Olga Krasnov, and Antonina Chapkina, alongside artists from India, China, and Brazil—including Ricardo Rodriguez and Xin Kaizhen, laureates of the “Road to Yalta” festival. Guiding the guests into the world of high classical art was Gediminas Taranda, founder of the Imperial Russian Ballet; under his direction, the attendees learned traditional quadrilles and polkas. The ball was directed by Polina Bertin.
The event also hosted the Star BRICS Award presentation ceremony. The awardees included Sammy Kotwani, President of the Russian-Indian Business Alliance, recognized “For the Promotion of International Cooperation”; Alexander Nesterov, Evgeny Trifonov, and Alexander Sunozov (TOPNEFT), honored “For Contributions to the Economy and Culture”; and Ekaterina Sirotina, Honored Coach of the Russian Federation, awarded “For Contributions to Educational Programs for Coaches and Athletes of the BRICS Nations.”
The “BRICS Horizons” Forum and the BRICS Nations Ball are annual events that feature prominently in the calendar of key international business and cultural diplomacy engagements.

“BRICS Horizons” Forum and the BRICS Nations Ball: Business, Culture, and Diplomacy in Moscow
On June 23–24, Moscow hosted the “BRICS Horizons” Forum and the International BRICS Nations Ball. The events brought together over 400 business program participants and 500 ball guests from 50 countries. Now, a month later, allowing for a measured assessment of the outcomes free from the urgency of the moment, the FBA EAC is publishing a detailed overview of the Association’s participation in these events.
