FBA EAC and RSPP held talks with Madagascar's business delegation
On the 24th of April, 2025, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs hosted a business meeting attended by key representatives of the Russian and international business environment. Among the participants: Alexander Shokhin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs; Alexander Murychev, Vice-President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and Chairman of the FBA EAC Board; Jerome Clausen, Member of the FBA EAC Board; Margarita Fedotova, Executive Director of FBA EAC; Timur Andreev, Advisor to the President of the FESCO Transport Group, as well as representatives of the RSPP international cooperation structures.
On the part of Madagascar, the event was attended by leading businessmen: Hasnaine Yavarhoussen, CEO of the FILATEX Group, and Ahmed Akaaboun, Board member of the FILATEX Group and President of the French AccesSOL Group.
The meeting discussed ambitious projects in the areas such as logistics, infrastructure, energy, industry, healthcare, agriculture, tourism and finance. For example, in logistics, it is planned to build a new port is planned in western Madagascar to develop mines and improve transport connectivity. In the energy sector, the possibility of jointly building floating nuclear power plants with the state corporation Rosatom is being discussed, which would significantly increase the availability of electricity for the local population.
There are also plans to build medical facilities in Mauritius, including a specialized hospital for the treatment of cancer. In the industrial sector, it is planned to develop two free economic zones, one of which will be allocated to the textile industry. Furthermore, it is worth noting the ambitious plans to develop tourism, including the organization of charter flights between Russia and Madagascar.
The Russian side, in turn, expressed its readiness to cooperate in trade, particularly with regard to aluminum supplies, as well as in logistics and infrastructure investments.
Alexander Shokhin noted that RSPP and its member companies are interested in the joint development of agriculture, energy and transport and logistics corridors.
During the talks, the parties agreed to discuss the possibility of signing an agreement between RSPP and a similar association in Madagascar.
It was also decided to prepare a cooperation agreement between FBA EAC and FILATEX Group.
The meeting is an important step in strengthening mutually beneficial economic relations between Russia and Madagascar and opens new prospects for the implementation of joint projects in a number of strategically important industries.

Hasnaine Yavarhoussen is the CEO of the FILATEX Group. He is one of Madagascar's leading entrepreneurs, known for his investments in various sectors such as power generation, real estate and hotelkeeping. He is also active in healthcare and social entrepreneurship. Mr. Hasnaine is Honorary Consul of Spain in Madagascar and holds awards such as the Malagasy National Order and the Spanish Order of Civil Merit.
Ahmed Akaaboun is a Board member of the FILATEX Group and President of the French AccesSOL Group. His experience in managing large international companies and strategic projects in Africa and Europe is an important contribution to the development of business ties between Madagascar and Russia.
