EAEU-2045: Business Development Strategy. Invitation to the Round Table on April 2, 2026
On April 2, 2026, a round table titled "Main Directions of the Eurasian Economic Union's Economic Development until 2045: Business Development Strategy" will be convened in Moscow. The event is organized by Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE), and Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC). The round table will bring together representatives from government agencies, the expert community, and the business sector to discuss long-term development objectives for the Eurasian Economic Union.
The first session, "Main Directions of the EAEU's Economic Development until 2045: Approaches to Development in Light of Global Economic Trends and Challenges," will focus on global trends, challenges, and risks that should be considered when formulating the EAEU's long-term agenda. Additionally, the session will address methodologies for selecting priorities based on EEC's sectoral activities, the Union's strategic documents, and the national development strategies of its member states.
The session will be inaugurated by Alexander Murychev, RUIE Vice-President and Chairman of the FBA EAC Board. Andrey Panteleev, Head of the Department of Economic Policy Strategies at EEC Macroeconomic Policy Department, will deliver an introductory address.
During the discussion, which will be moderated by Alexey Vedev, Director of EEC Macroeconomic Policy Department, key experts are anticipated to present their perspectives. Yuri Simachev from HSE University, Sergey Afontsev from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Alexander Shirov from the Institute for National Economic Forecasts of the Russian Academy of Sciences will provide assessments of long-term economic trends and potential development paths for the Union. Alexander Grigoriev from the Institute for Natural Monopoly Issues will present a report titled "EAEU 2045: Limits of Growth." Dmitry Shults from the Center for Infrastructure Economics will discuss "Key Trends, Challenges, and Risks in the Global Economy until 2045 Relevant for the EAEU." Vladimir Tsyganov from the Institute for Transport Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences will address "A Complex of Models for Strategic Management of Transport Infrastructure Development in Eurasia."
The second session, "Main Directions of the EAEU Economic Development – 2045: Practical Steps to Strengthen the Financial and Industrial Potential," will focus on specific mechanisms for the implementation of the long-term strategy. The session will delve into the formation of a common financial market within the EAEU, the expansion of settlements in national currencies, the development of a unified space for technological cooperation, measures to enhance production competitiveness, the introduction of high-tech products into domestic and international markets, and the role of interstate standards (GOST) as a tool for industrial cooperation.
The session will be moderated by Alexander Kotlyarsky, First Vice-President of FBA EAC, a member of the FBA EAC Bureau, and CEO of PROMTEX LLC.
Among the speakers will be:
- Vitaly Vovk, Deputy Director of the EEC Department of Industrial Policy, who will present "The Main Directions of Industrial and Technological Development in the EAEU";
- Alexey Kazartsev, Chairman of FBA EAC International Banking Committee, who will discuss "International Payments: Payment Cards and Mobile Applications. Standards, Sanctions Risks, and Their Minimization";
- Andrey Lotsmanov, Deputy Co-Chairman of the RUIE Committee on Industrial Policy and Technical Regulation, who will address "International Standards (GOST) as a Tool for Creating a Safe Environment";
- Anatoly Smirnov, President of the National Institute for Global Security Research and Professor at MGIMO, who will discuss the prospects of "Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technologies in the EAEU";
- Diana Mashtakeeva, Deputy Chairman of the General Directorate of the Council for Professional Qualifications in the Financial Market and a member of the RUIE Board, who will present a report on "Ensuring the Convergence and Mutual Recognition of Qualification and Educational Requirements";
- Igor Badin, Professor at the Institute for the Preservation of Shareholder Ownership, who will speak on "Intersectoral Centers for Technological Adaptation: Consolidating Experience of Competitor Companies to Create Unified Quality Standards and Accelerate Import Substitution, Including Digitalization."
The event will conclude with a business part, offering participants an opportunity to exchange contacts and continue discussions in an informal setting.
