Business meeting of FBA EAC and RSPP with representatives of Nepal: the course on strategic partnership

On June 17, 2025, a working business meeting of the FBA EAC and RSPP members with the delegation of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal was held in Moscow. The event was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, and demonstrated the mutual interest of the parties in developing business ties and creating sustainable channels of interaction.

From the Russian side, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of International Bilateral Cooperation and the Department of International Multilateral Cooperation and Integration of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Anatoly Tkachuk, member of the RSPP Board, as well as the FBA EAC management: Vice-Presidents Alexander Kotlyarsky, Egor Semenov, Nikolay Savelyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board Manish Kumar and Adviser to the Chairman of the Board Sergey Korotkov.

The Nepalese delegation was headed by Mr. Jang Bahadur Chauhan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal in the Russian Federation. The delegation included Mr. Sushil Gyawali, CEO of the Investment Board of Nepal, representatives of the Investment Board and the business community of Nepal.

Platform for dialogue and promising projects

Anatoly Tkachuk, member of the RSPP Board, presented in detail the mission and objectives of FBA EAC, emphasizing its uniqueness as a multilateral platform for developing financial, economic and entrepreneurial cooperation in the Eurasian space:

“FBA EAC brings together a wide range of business leaders interested in launching international projects, including those who are looking for sustainable mechanisms of interaction in the Eurasian region,” said Mr. Tkachuk.

Special attention was paid to the activities of the Investment Board of Nepal, which plays a crucial role in creating a favorable investment climate in the country and attracting foreign investment. Mr. Sushil Gyawali spoke about the priority areas of Nepal’s economic development and expressed confidence in the prospects of cooperation with Russian and Eurasian partners.

Key areas of cooperation: from energy to education

Nikolay Savelyev, Vice-President of FBA EAC, and Sergey Korotkov, Adviser to the Chairman of the Board, identified specific areas where joint initiatives can be launched. These are, first of all, energy, tourism, the agro-industrial sector, education and high technologies.

Manish Kumar, Deputy Chairman of the FBA EAC Board, drew attention to the importance of trilateral cooperation between Russia, India and Nepal. He also stressed the importance of developing employment and academic mobility programs for students from India and Nepal through deepening cooperation with Russian universities. The participants of the meeting also touched upon the financial and banking agenda as a necessary element of a sustainable interstate business dialogue.

Alexander Kotlyarsky, Vice-President of FBA EAC, reminded the participants about the upcoming 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, which will be celebrated in 2026. “This anniversary is an occasion not only to celebrate past successes, but also to move on to new forms of strategic partnership based on respect, equality and business interests,” said Mr. Kotlyarsky.

Concrete steps and agreements

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize return visits and regular consultations to work out joint projects. The results of the meeting will be reported to the President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin.

Egor Semenov, Vice-President of FBA EAC, summed up the results:
“We see Nepal not only as an interested partner, but also as a potential ally in building closer economic cooperation between the regions of Asia and Eurasia. It is important that our relations move from the stage of dialogue to the format of practical cooperation.”

FBA EAC and RSPP express their gratitude to Mr. Chauhan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, and Mr. Gyawali, CEO of the Investment Board of Nepal, for their active participation in strengthening bilateral cooperation and are confident that the meeting will provide a solid foundation for further steps towards developing multilateral partnerships.
