FBA EAC delegation took part in the Central Asian Financial and Banking Forum “Banks and Fintech-2025”
On June 12-14, 2025, Rixos Borovoe (Kazakhstan) hosted the First Central Asian Financial and Banking Forum “Banks and Fintech 2025” (CAFBF-2025), which became a significant platform for professional dialogue between representatives of the banking sector, fintech companies, regulators and investors of Central and Southeast Asia. FBA EAC delegation took part in the forum, confirming the high interest in the issues of digital transformation of the financial industry in the Eurasian space.
Marat Baitokov, First Vice-President of the Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of the FBA EAC Representative Office in Kazakhstan, delivered a welcoming speech at the forum’s opening. He stressed: “The Forum will become a platform for discussing key areas of digital transformation of banks, as well as deepening integration processes not only between the countries of the region, but also between the CIS, SCO, BRICS and EU countries.”
Alexander Murychev, Chairman of the Board of FBA EAC and Chairman of the International Banking Council, addressed the plenary session. He drew the participants’ attention to the institutional barriers constraining the development of regional cooperation:
“Overcoming institutional fragmentation remains one of the main tasks for the Central Asian states and the EAEU. The fragmentation of currency regimes, differences in banking regulation, and the lack of a single infrastructure for cross-border settlements all hinder the dynamic growth of mutual trade and investment. Undoubtedly, geopolitical risks and sanctions pressure from Western countries create problems in the development of interbank cooperation. FBA EAC consistently advocates for the expansion of international dialogue between the business circles of the Eurasian countries. We maintain direct business relations between banks, corporations, and investment funds.”
Alexey Kazartsev, Chairman of the International Banking Committee of FBA EAC, made a speech in the framework of the thematic section “Banks and Fintech”. He presented a report on the topic “Security of Mobile Applications for Banks”, in which he elaborated on current cyber threats and the need to strengthen coordination in the field of digital security:
“Today, mobile banking applications are becoming the main channel of interaction with the customer. In the face of rising cyber threats, it is important to develop common approaches to assessing the security of such solutions. We see the need to harmonize security requirements and standards in the Eurasian space, including the creation of joint response protocols and information exchange between banks and fintech companies.”
CAFBF–2025 brought together more than 200 participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Cyprus, the USA and other countries. Its key topics were digitalization, the development of fintech solutions, ensuring cybersecurity, as well as the formation of new integration financial mechanisms. As a result of the event, the participants agreed to create a permanent platform for discussing challenges and solutions emerging at the intersection of banking technologies and digital innovations.
