The FBA EAC delegation visited the Vologda region and met with the governor of the region to discuss promising projects

The FBA EAC delegation headed by Li Shuobing, President of FBA EAC, paid a working visit to the Vologda region. The delegation was also joined by Anton Vasiliev, General Director of OOO “Sparta”, FBA EAC member, and Tamara Guseva, special representative of the shareholder of SLC-Rus Group.

The main event of the visit was a meeting with the Governor of the region Georgy Filimonov, during which the participants discussed key areas of cooperation and promising investment projects.

Strategic Dialogue with the Region's Leadership

The working meeting was held in the small hall of the Vologda Region Government, where the parties discussed plans to develop economic and educational cooperation.

In his welcoming speech, Governor Georgy Filimonov emphasized the importance of strengthening partnership with the association:

‘We continue to attract new investors, offer a system of support measures and tax preferences. We discussed with Li Shuobing, President of FBA EAC, the prospects for joint implementation of new projects in the field of production and cooperation in the field of education’.

FBA EAC President Li Shuobing presented the Association's main activities and specific initiatives, including:

  • Construction of a plant for the production of reinforced concrete products in the Special Economic Zone “Vologodskaya” (Leskovo settlement).
  • Creation of a service center for maintenance of Chinese freight transport.
  • Development of educational programs on the basis of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) and Vologda State University in partnership with Chinese experts.

Deputy Governor Dmitry Rodionov noted that the implementation of these projects will create new jobs and strengthen the industrial potential of the region.

Visit to the Vologda Region Development Corporation

The FBA EAC delegation also visited AO Vologda Region Development Corporation, where they learnt in detail about the opportunities offered by the Special Economic Zone. During the meeting, the parties discussed key infrastructure advantages and support measures for investors that stimulate business development in the region.

Productive negotiations were also held with the representatives of the machine-building enterprise OOO “Vologodskiye Mashiny (Vologda Machines)”.

Educational Cooperation: New Horizons

An important stage of the visit was a meeting at Vologda State University with the participation of Ekaterina Tselikova, Minister of Education of the Vologda Region, Acting Rector of Vologda State University as well as representatives of RANEPA and Cherepovets State University. The discussion focused on experience exchange programs, internships for specialists and the creation of joint training centers.

‘Integration with Chinese partners in the field of education will make it possible to train highly qualified personnel for key sectors of the economy,’ Ekaterina Tselikova said.

Final agreements

At the end of the meeting, Governor Georgy Filimonov expressed confidence in further strengthening of partnership with international organizations in various sectors of the economy and social sphere.

The visit of the FBA EAC delegation confirmed the mutual interest in developing long-term cooperation between the Vologda region and the Association, opening new prospects for the economic growth of the region.
