FBA EAC Charity: An Invitation to Partnership
In June 2025, the FBA EAC Board of Directors established a Charity Committee, which was initially led by Alexander Kotlyarsky. This committee laid the groundwork for a systematic approach to charitable activities. In November of the same year, following an assessment of the breadth and maturity of member initiatives, the Board transformed the committee into FBA EAC International Committee on Humanitarian and Social Policy, Charity, and Patronage. Tudor Afanasov, the Head of the FBA EAC branch in Romania, was appointed as the Chairman of the updated committee. Alexander Kotlyarsky, who now oversees FBA EAC Committee on Industry, remains an active participant in FBA EAC International Committee on Humanitarian and Social Policy, Charity, and Patronage, contributing his expertise and continuing to be an integral part of the team.
Charitable endeavors have historically been an integral part of the Association's ethos, with personal initiative and active engagement forming the core of its community. However, the disparate nature of these efforts necessitated a more structured approach, which led to the establishment of the committee. The expanded name reflects the reality that the Association's members engage in not only targeted charitable activities but also long-term support of social institutions, investment in orphanage systems, and contributions to cultural and sporting initiatives, all of which constitute forms of social policy, charity and patronage assistance. The international status of the committee enables coordination across national boundaries, providing assistance in regions where humanitarian intervention is required.
Internal transparency and integrity are of paramount importance to us. We emphasize the alignment of words with actions, ensuring that assistance is provided sincerely and not for public recognition. Trust is cultivated through consistent, genuine engagement, which has been the foundation of FBA EAC relationships.
The committee's activities are organized in areas that have naturally evolved, without pre-determined planning. These include support for specialized foundations dedicated to pediatric care, a task that is carried out regularly and without further elaboration. Additionally, the committee provides assistance to individuals and entities in difficult circumstances. For instance, the Domovyata orphanage has become an integral part of the Association's ongoing activities, rather than merely a subject of reports.
Children's sports hold a significant place in the Association's portfolio. FBA EAC supports specialized clubs, such as the Prima rhythmic gymnastics club, by acquiring equipment and leasing sports facilities. This enables children to pursue their passion without becoming a subject of media attention.
In our view, social policies, charity and patronage projects also promote internal cohesion. By assisting others at our own pace and selecting our own methods of engagement, we not only address their needs but also strengthen the community from the inside. Trust is reciprocal: it exists between those who provide assistance and those who receive it, but most importantly, it is built among us.
If this approach resonates with you—emphasizing the need for a systematic approach to helping others, beyond mere sentimentality—we invite you to join us in this endeavor. The committee welcomes both long-standing contributors and individuals seeking to engage in charitable activities.
