According to Anna Bezdudnaya, the summit was perceived as a demonstration of unity among major non-Western powers, aimed at shaping a multipolar world. The meeting of the leaders of Russia, China, India, and Iran in Bishkek has reinforced the SCO's image as an influential platform for the consolidation of the Global South and the East. The expert noted that special attention was drawn to the talks between Putin and Xi Jinping, which took place on the sidelines of the summit and emerged as one of its key political outcomes.
"This was not merely a summit, but a comprehensive demonstration that the SCO is evolving into one of the centers for global decision-making, expanding well beyond the regional agenda," Anna Bezdudnaya noted.
Following the summit, 28 documents were adopted and signed. These include the Bishkek Declaration marking the 25th anniversary of the SCO, which sets the strategic direction for the organization's development; decisions on institutional reform and strengthening the security architecture; and the launch of the Center for Countering Transnational Organized Crime in Bishkek.
According to the expert, particular attention should be paid to the reaffirmation of the commitment to establish the SCO Development Bank, as well as the adoption of documents on cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, climate, and information security.
In addition to the leaders of the 10 member states, the summit was attended by the heads of state of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Mongolia, and Turkey, as well as senior officials from the UN, EAEU, CSTO, and CIS. The expanding geography and the "SCO+" format underscore the organization's growing authority beyond Eurasia.
The economic segment of the summit was dedicated to advancing industrial cooperation, transport connectivity, and logistics. Anna Bezdudnaya also highlighted the diplomatic intensity of the event: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held at least 11 bilateral meetings, while separate talks took place among the leaders of Russia, China, India, and Iran.
"For Kyrgyzstan, this was a major diplomatic success that has bolstered its international standing," Anna Bezdudnaya concluded. The chairmanship of the organization has now passed to Pakistan, which will be responsible for implementing the agreements reached in Bishkek.

From August 31 to September 1, Bishkek hosted the landmark Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which concluded Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the organization for the 2025–2026 term. Anna Bezdudnaya, General Director of the Financial and Business Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation and Editor-in-Chief of the Herald of FBA EAC, presented an expert analysis of the event, highlighting several key aspects of the summit. She noted that the central event was the bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and PRC Chairman Xi Jinping, which reaffirmed the strategic nature of Russian-Chinese relations in the context of global geopolitics.
