Anna Bezdudnaya Participated in the VIII Congress of the Association of Banks of Russia
On May 22, 2026, the VIII Congress of the Association of Banks of Russia (the XLV General Meeting of the Association's Members) was convened. Anna Bezdudnaya, CEO of FBA EAC and Editor-in-Chief of the FBA EAC Herald, attended the event as a delegate.
During the Congress, delegates and participants listened to a keynote address by A.G. Aksakov, the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Banks of Russia, titled "Development of the National Banking System: Adaptation to Long-Term Structural Challenges." Additionally, speeches by other prominent participants were presented. It was noted that over the past year, there has been an increase in the capitalization of banks, which has facilitated enhanced lending and the maintenance of its quality at an acceptable standard. This outcome is attributed to collaborative efforts between the banking sector and regulatory authorities to establish a unified approach to the priorities of financial market development.
The Congress concluded with the adoption of the following resolutions:
1. Approval of the annual accounting (financial) statements of the Association of Banks of Russia for the fiscal year 2025.
2. Approval of the report of the Audit Commission on the financial and economic activities of the Association of Banks of Russia for the fiscal year 2025.
The banking system has prioritized the promotion of economic development, support for key industries and small businesses, and the provision of accessible financial services to citizens. The tightening of monetary policy has influenced the availability of loans and the pace of lending, while contributing to the prevention of further inflationary acceleration. The decline in inflation is a critical indicator of the economy's trajectory towards balanced and sustainable growth.
