Alexander Kotlyarsky Participated in the Mining Industry Leaders Forum at Mining World Russia 2026
On April 22 and 23, at Crocus Expo, the Mining Industry Leaders Forum was held as part of the thirtieth anniversary international exhibition of machines, equipment, and technologies for mining, processing, and transportation of minerals, known as Mining World Russia 2026. The forum's central theme was the digital investment and efficiency enhancement in the mining industry.
Alexander Kotlyarsky, Doctor of Science, First Vice-President of FBA EAC, CEO of Industrial Technologies LLC, participated in the forum.
Mining World Russia 2026 attracted an unprecedented number of participants. The exhibition was attended by 515 companies from 16 countries, including Russia, China, Belarus, Brazil, Turkey, and South Africa. Russian manufacturers accounted for 49% of the participants, underscoring the ongoing trend towards localization of equipment and technologies. The total exhibition area exceeded 30,000 square meters across four pavilions at Crocus Expo.
Over the course of the forum's two-day duration, experts and leaders from prominent industry companies deliberated on the implementation of artificial intelligence, digital twin technologies, and automation systems in mining enterprises, as well as mechanisms for attracting investment in technological modernization. Particular emphasis was placed on import substitution and the advancement of domestic IT solutions tailored for the mining industry.
The business program also encompassed sessions addressing industrial safety, human resource management, and the development of new educational standards for mining engineers in the digital age. The event was conducted with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
In his capacity with the FBA EAC Committee on Industry, Alexander Kotlyarsky's involvement in the Mining Industry Leaders Forum and Mining World Russia 2026 exhibition represented a further step in the systematic effort to coordinate industrial policy within the Eurasian Economic Union. During the business program, Alexander Kotlyarsky provided an interview to RBC, outlining the key challenges and prospects for the digital transformation of the mining industry. The trends discussed at the forum — digitalization, increased efficiency, and import substitution of critical technologies — are directly aligned with the objectives of the committee's harmonization of technical requirements and introduction of advanced solutions. The participation of FBA EAC in the dialogue between business, scientific community, and regulatory bodies facilitates the accelerated development of unified standards for digital security and automation, ultimately ensuring the technological sovereignty of the member countries' industries.
