A working meeting on Russian-Indian cooperation
On July 29, 2025, a working meeting dedicated to the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Russia and India was held at the headquarters of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).
The meeting was attended by Dmitry Kuzmin, Executive Vice-President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Manish Kumar, Deputy Chairman of the FBA EAC Board, Anna Solovyova, Managing Director of the RSPP Department for International Bilateral Cooperation, and Viktor Grinchenko, Head of the RSPP Business Travel Center.
The main objectives of the meeting were the current state of Russian-Indian cooperation, preparations for the upcoming international summit, issues of attracting qualified personnel from India, as well as the removal of tariff and regulatory barriers hindering business development.
Special attention was paid to the current foreign policy conditions, against which Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, is expected to pay an official visit to India. In addition, the parties discussed participation in the meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Indian Commission, which will be held in Moscow at the end of August 2025, and outlined preparations for the participation of the Russian delegation in the international industrial exhibition ChemTECH World Expo 2026 in Mumbai (February 3-6, 2026).
Within the framework of the preparation for the international Russian-Indian summit scheduled for August, there was confirmed information about the arrival of a large Indian delegation in Moscow. The host party will be the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the assistance of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in India.
One of the central topics was attracting qualified specialists from India against the background of a shortage of labor resources in Russia. It is planned to create a qualification assessment center with the participation of the Russian Ministry of Labor, as well as to expand interstate cooperation in this area.
Manish Kumar, Deputy Chairman of the FBA EAC Board, representing the interests of India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and a number of African countries, has launched a number of initiatives to develop Russian-Indian cooperation. He stressed the interest of the business community in expanding its participation in Russian projects, in particular in the fields of petrochemistry, composite materials and agriculture. Mr. Kumar also expressed his willingness to help prepare for the upcoming summit and further deepen the partnership.
The results of the meeting confirmed the high level of mutual interest in the development of bilateral cooperation and outlined concrete steps towards strengthening the latter ahead of the key international events.
