 On April 21, 2022, the 12th Russian M&A Congress was held at the Courtyard Marriott Moscow Center (Voznesensky Lane, 7), where Vladimir Sokolov, Chairman of the FBA EAC Committee on International Leasing, took part on behalf of the FBA EAC.
The Congress has taken [lace since 2010, and during this time has become a landmark event in the market and the main venue where M&A professionals meet. The congress program aimed at ensuring that the conference participants were constantly aware of the main events and trends in the M&A market.
Traditionally, representatives of leading market players took part in the event as speakers.
According to Mergers.ru, Russian information and analytical portal that compiles ratings of M&A consultants in Russia. In 2021, 533 transactions were registered (including transactions under negotiation and registration) – this is comparable to the results of 2020 (566 processes). The market volume increased from $46.2 billion in 2020 to $52.5 billion in 2021. Following the volume, the average transaction price also increased – from $124.2 million to $152.6 million. Despite the new challenge for the market – the unstable political situation – there is no expected decline in M&A activity in Russia in 2022. In particular, a number of transactions will condition by the departure of Western investors and their replacement by local and Eastern players. In addition, as in other crisis periods, transactions with medium and small checks and the distressed asset segment will come to the fore.
Within the framework of the event, there was an award ceremony of the leading industry players with the Russia M&A Awards.
