RSPP discussed the implementation of projects by Russian companies in Africa

On June 27, 2023 the Commission of the RSPP on the Military Industrial Complex held a meeting within the framework of preparation for the summit and the Economic and Humanitarian Forum Russia-Africa discussing implementation of high-tech civil projects of defense industry enterprises for the development of trade, economic, scientific and technical relations with African countries.

Anatoly Tkachuk, Chairman of the Commission on the Military Industrial Complex, Member of the FBA EAC Executive Board, outlined the relevance of the African agenda for Russian enterprises in terms of export development of projects implemented under the diversification program. He emphasized the importance of participation in this matter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, development institutions, banking structures and other structures focused on the development of export potential of industrial enterprises. He noted that the Russia-Africa 2023 Summit and Forum in this context is the most important event that will help interested structures to enter African markets. 

During the meeting, the participants discussed preparations for the Second Russia-Africa Summit. Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large, Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, reported on the plans and the current state of affairs. During his speech, he stressed the need for a comprehensive approach of high-tech enterprises to entering African markets. In turn, Sergey Krasilnikov, Vice-President and Managing Director of the Department of International Bilateral Cooperation of the RSPP, member of the FBA EAC Supervisory Board, told the participants about the work being done in the RSPP and the FBA EAC to prepare for the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum and attract business representatives to participate, as well as presented general aspects of work with Africa.

In his closing remarks, Anatoly Tkachuk underlined the interest of Russian enterprises in the events of the summit and the Russia-Africa forum to implement specific projects aimed at developing trade, economic, scientific and technological relations with African countries.
