ICIE Assembly

On November 9, 2023, the next reporting and election Assembly of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs took place.

The assembly was at the site of the MMF BRICS+ in St. Petersburg, at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Assembly discussed the existing geo-economic challenges faced by the international business community, current problems of the current and future activities of the organization, decisions were made on a number of organizational and personnel issues. In particular, the Assembly elected Artem Chaika as the President of ICIE for a new term, as well as the new composition of the ICIE Council.

Мупычев111.jpgAlexander Murychev, Chairman of the FBA EAC Board, Vice-President of the RSPP, member of the ICIE Council, spoke at the Assembly. In his speech, he noted that since February 2022, about 15 thousand sanctions have been imposed on Russia, including more than 9 thousand on individuals. For example, 4.2 thousand sanctions have been imposed on Iran over two decades, and 2.6 thousand on Syria. The Russian economy has not only overcome the problems, but has embarked on the path of further economic growth. GDP will grow to 3% by the end of the year. In September, the growth was more than 5% in annual terms. Structural changes are taking place, the share of the manufacturing industry is growing (over 40%). The main support is provided by mechanical engineering with a rate of over 22%. Together with chemical and metallurgical complexes, the output of manufacturing industries is expanding by almost 90%.
Russia and the EAEU countries ensure energy and food security. 90% of trade is carried out between the EAEU countries in national currencies. International transport corridors "North-South", "East-West" are being built. "The banking sector is showing its resilience," Alexander Murychev stressed.
Within the framework of the business program of the Forum, ICIE members took part a thematic session "Middle East and Africa: economic cooperation, new opportunities and prospects".
