FBA EAC strengthens business ties in India and neighboring countries
Oleg Preksin, member of the FBA EAC Executive Board, Chairman of the International Banking Committee of the FBA EAC, took part in the Russia-India Business Forum, which took place in Delhi (India), and held negotiations with representatives of local business community on issues of practical interest to the Association and its members.
The Forum, dedicated to topical trade and economic problems of forming regional business space with a focus on interaction in the technological sphere and creation of technological alliances in Greater Eurasia, gathered several hundred participants from a number of countries. The Forum was organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the Global Council of Innovation and Industry, the Invest India National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, the Russian Export Center, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Business Council for Cooperation with India, the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow City Government and the RUSSOFT Non-Commercial Partnership of Software Developers. The forum was attended by representatives of governing bodies and business, industry and agriculture, finance, transport and logistics. The purpose of the Forum is to promote the creation of cross-border alliances in the field of high tech, IT and cybersecurity, in manufacturing and service industries, in health care and tourism.
The two-day work of the Forum in the traditional format of plenary and thematic sessions additionally included the signing of multilateral agreements, pitch-sessions for companies interested in new business partners as well as the detailed presentation of the St. Petersburg International Forum, which is scheduled for June 14-17, 2023. B2B bilateral meetings were held at the same time, and were used by the Forum participants to discuss the terms of specific deals.
The platform of the Forum was actively used for the preparation of the FBA EAC delegation's visit to India scheduled for autumn of this year.
Oleg Preksin held a separate meeting on the development of cross-border payments and settlements in the «BRICS Plus» format in Mumbai at the headquarters of the National Payment Corporation of India. On the sidelines of the meeting, a trilateral teleconference was held with South Africa, which initiated the issue of development of instruments and services that facilitate faster and cheaper cross-border payments and settlements. This issue is one of the priorities of the current South African presidency of the BRICS Business Council and its BRICS Business Council Financial Services Working Group in general and the activities of the specialized BRICS Pay and Fintech Task Group in particular.
